Kat Starr Music Terms & Conditions
Please read our terms and conditions to get the most out of your lessons at Kat Starr Music (KSM).
LESSONS
Private lessons with a KSM Teacher are 45 minutes in length, and there are 46 lessons per year.
Expert Lessons with Kat Starr are 60 minutes in length, and there are 36 lessons per year.
Scheduled lessons and closures are accounted for in your monthly subscription.
SUBSCRIPTION
Private Lessons at Kat Starr Music with a highly skilled KSM Teacher are $130/month.
Learn Together lessons at KSM are $190/month.
Expert Lessons with Kat Starr are $175/month.
ALL subscriptions are auto-billed on the 1st of each month unless you reach out to arrange a delayed payment date.
Invoices go out via email on the 1st of each month and are due upon receipt.
A $10 late fee will be automatically billed if an account is 10 days past due.
You may cancel your subscription at any time, we do not have contracts.
KSM does not offer refunds.
MAKE-UPS
Makeups work on a “credit” system. 1 credit = 1 makeup lesson. Login to your student account to view credits.
If a KSM teacher needs to cancel a lesson, a credit is always issued.
Sometimes, one KSM teacher may fill in for another to avoid rescheduling due to teacher cancellation.
If a student cancels their lesson via Opus1 MORE than 24 hours before their lesson, a credit is automatically issued.
If a student cancels their lesson LESS than 24 hours before their lesson, no credit is issued.
Students may have up to 2 credits in a 90 day period (excluding teacher absence credits).
All credits expire after 90 days.
You may still “Send a Friend” to your lesson day/time if you are unable to come. Please alert your teacher ahead of time!
GENERAL
Parents - please accompany young children into the studio.
Parents must return to the studio to pick up children 5 minutes before their lesson ends.
Do not bring sick individuals to the studio. Attend your lesson virtually instead!
INCLEMENT WEATHER
KSM does not necessarily close when public schools do.
If KSM closes, you will be emailed and/or texted as soon as possible..
You are always welcome to attend your lesson virtually.
RECITALS
Participation in recitals is greatly encouraged!
In-person recitals take place yearly in the fall at the Cookeville Performing Arts Center and offer an opportunity to showcase skills students have attained. Recital fees of $45 per student to help defray the cost of the venue, bulletins, refreshments, the sound technician, etc.
Virtual recitals take place each spring and pieces are pre-recorded to give students the experience of honing skills in front of a camera, as well as being able to pick that perfect take. Recital fee of $15 per student.
